Arthatic Yoga

1. What is meditation?

The word ‘Meditation' has been mistranslated in today's world; to many, meditation means relaxation, being energized, feeling happy and peaceful etc. Actually, it's all of these plus a lot more…

Meditation has a purifying effect. It strengthens your connection to your Higher Soul. The ultimate objective of meditation is to achieve union with your higher soul safely.

The Meditation on Twin Hearts is taught in the Basic Pranic Healing course. The higher meditations follow in the courses of Arhatic Yoga.

Meditation on Twin Hearts (in brief): This meditation is an advanced meditation guided by GMCKS. It involves the activation and use of two energy centers or chakras, the heart and crown chakras. Activation of these chakras is necessary part of any spiritual development. When this is done properly, the spiritual development of the student is accelerated. This meditation, however, is not just for the spiritual development of the student; as part of the meditation process, the student uses Divine Energy to bless the whole world and all living beings. This is a form of world-service that helps to heal the world and can help usher in the Golden Age of World Peace.

2. What is Arhatic Yoga?

GMCKS has founded two schools, Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga. Pranic Healing focuses primarily on healing while Arhatic Yoga focuses on spiritual development using advance sadhanas or practices.

There are other meditation techniques more advanced than Meditation on Twin Hearts. One of these is Arhatic Yoga which is only for a chosen few. Arhatic Yoga is called the “yoga of synthesis”. It deals with the activation of the chakras and the awakening of the kundalini through a safe and systematic method.

Arhatic is derived from the word ‘Arhat' which is a Pali Term, which literally means “He who is Worthy” or “He who is worthy of Praise”. Arhatic Yoga is called “The Synthesis of Yoga” in the initial levels. In the higher levels it becomes “The Yoga of Synthesis”. The purpose of Arhatic Yoga is to help the practitioner develop to the level of an Arhat or an Arihant.

The word “yoga” is from the Sanskrit root “yug” which means to yoke or unite. Yoga is thus the term given to any technique that culminates in uniting us with the divine.

At the preparatory level, the practitioner is taught four meditations which, alongside the “Meditation on Twin hearts”, form the foundation for all future practices. Regular practice of the meditations leads to tremendously accelerated spiritual growth, increased healing power, enhanced mental faculties and intuition besides reduced stress, better interpersonal relationships and peace.

The key to the practice of Arhatic yoga is balance. As the meditations combine the various schools of yoga, the practitioner finds that he or she develops not only spiritual, but also mental, emotional and physical faculties to help the world by doing service, which forms the karma yoga part of Arhatic Yoga.

At the preparatory level, practitioners are expected to do at least three hours of service (charity, healing, feeding, teaching etc) per week as part of the service, besides studying various books and meditating regularly. Practitioners are also expected to minimize if not stop smoking and consumption of alcohol and to maintain a predominantly vegetarian diet. There are many higher levels of Arhatic Yoga that teach the practitioner advanced and powerful meditation techniques. Admission to these levels is based on the applicant's practice of the preparatory course meditations.

This course allows the student to successfully manage his/her family and business life along with the spiritual growth.

3. Is Arhatic Yoga asana based?

Arhatic Yoga consists of advances spiritual practices and meditations.

Arhatic Yogi's do physical exercises and/or yoga asanas before starting their Arhatic practices. The purpose of physical exercises or asanas is to cleanse and prepare the body for the downpour of tremendous spiritual energy during the Arhatic Practices. Without proper and thorough physical exercises or asanas, one cannot practice Arhatic Yoga successfully as the physical body will tend to become congested and sick in the long run.

4. What is the difference between a Pranic Healer and Arhatic Yogi?

A Pranic Healer specializes in healing, physical and psychological ailments using energy.

With the practice of Arhatic yoga, the pranic healer can develop the energy body and make the chakras bigger; thus increasing the capacity to channel energy for healing. A practicing Arhatic yogi is able to handle more subtle energies, making the healing quicker and more powerful.

All Arhatic yogis are pranic healers but all pranic healers are not necessarily Arhatic yogis.

5. How long does it take to practice the meditations?

In the preparatory level-2 of Arhatic Yoga, four powerful meditations are taught. They take from 20 mins to 50 mins to practice depending on which it is.

6. Does one have to meditate daily?

To achieve the desired results in Arhatic Yoga the student is advised to meditate atleast 5 times a week. The duration of the meditations range from 20 mins to 50 mins depending on the meditation practiced.

7. Five Pillars of Arhatic Yoga

The Five Pillars form the basis of Arhatic Yoga:

Pillar # 1: Devotion to the Supreme GOD and reverence to the Sat-Guru GMCKS

Devotion to God and Reverence to the Teacher are very important. Without devotion to God, or at least reverence to God and to the Spiritual Teacher, the practice of Arhatic yoga is not possible.

There is only one physical Sat-Guru for Arhatic Yoga – Grand Master Choa Kok Sui. The rest of the senior disciples teaching Arhatic Yoga are Arhatic instructors.

Pillar # 2: Purifications

Purification is divided into physical and inner purifications. In both instances, it is divided into do's and don'ts. In order for the physical and energy body to withstand greater amounts of spiritual and subtle energies flowing into the energy body and physical body, physical purification must be observed.

Inner purification or Character Building is an absolute necessity. Without inner purification or character building, the weaknesses of a person will become so magnified, that the person becomes worse instead of better. Character building is done through “Inner Reflection and Firm Resolution”. In the Hindu tradition, the practice of character building is called, Yama and Niyama.

Pillar # 3: Meditations

To accelerate the spiritual evolution of the soul it is necessary to do meditation or spiritual practice regularly.

In Arhatic Yoga Preparatory Level 2 there are four meditations which the spiritual aspirant must practice regularly.

1. Meditation on Twin Hearts

2. Meditation on the Blue Pearl

3. Arhatic Kundalini Meditation

4. Arhatic Dhyan

Pillar # 4: Study

There is a recommended list of books for studying. This is a part of Jnana yoga where the mental faculties of the student are stimulated.

Pillar # 5: Service and Tithing

The student is taught teachings and advance techniques to practice each and every pillar. It is this systematic approach that makes this very advanced system of Yoga simple for us to practice. The techniques are very powerful but they have been highly simplified by the Satguru GMCKS.

8. What is the meaning of Sat-Guru?
Sat-Guru means “primary permanent spiritual teacher”. The Sat-guru for Pranic Healing, Arhatic Yoga and the courses of the Inner Institute is Grand Master Choa Kok Sui.

This also means that GMCKS is the source of all the teachings, techniques, practices and related material to Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga.

To copy any material from GMCKS' courses is an offense as they are all copyright protected worldwide.

A disciple has only one Satguru but can have many spiritual guides/mentors.

9. Vegetarianism..

Pranic Healing or Arhatic Yoga doesn't force students to turn vegetarian. However, they are advised to stop eating red meat (pork) and fish without scales (eel, catfish) as their energy bodies are quite gross.

10. How and where do we learn and practice Arhatic Yoga?

rhatic Yoga courses, starting with “Achieving Oneness with the Higher Soul” are taught by the foundations. Students may practice the meditation individually or in groups at centers, offices or at the Arhatic Ashram (Mulshi, near Pune).
